The AxleTech 5000 series family of planetary rigid axles are engineered to meet the increasing demands of the 4×4, 6×6 or 8×8 off-highway trucks, A.T. cranes, multi-axle mobile cranes, tow tractors, and heavy-duty specialty-type vehicle vocations. This axle has a vocationally-dependent axle load rating of up to 55,000 lbs (25,000 kg). A wide range of overall axle ratios, load capacities, vehicle mountings, carrier offsets, and brakes for performance characteristics are available to match your specific vehicle installation requirements. The 5000 series axle has common wheel mounting capability with the 5000 series steer, as well as other axles of the 3000/4000 series families, brake options and selected hub mounting dependant. Standard features include an overall axle ratio range from 5.38 to 17.50, offering maximum flexibility to optimize vehicle performance.

Multiple axle options include features to permit optimization of this rigid axle family to customize the axle for your specific vocational requirements.

  • Outboard-mounted brake drums have been designed for air-actuated brakes that permit easier serviceability without requiring the planetary hub reduction to be disassembled to perform normal brake maintenance.
  • Wheel-mounted ABS is also an option for the on-road vehicle vocational requirements.
  • A central tire inflation option is available for those vehicles demanding increased floatation in the various rugged off-road vocational duty cycles.
  • Carrier differential options include an air-actuated differential lock or limited slip, and a wide range of input flange sizes and styles.
  • Multiple axle pad mounting styles are available with location flexibility on the high-strength fabricated axle housing design utilized by this family of rigid axles.

The AxleTech PRC673 planetary rigid axle is engineered to meet the demands of heavy-duty off-highway market vocations. Typical vocational usages include fertilizer spreader, snow blower, tow tractor, loader, feller buncher, and special vehicle applications. This axle is widely accepted in the off highway vocational segments due to its broad axle capacity of up to 31,000 lbs (14,000 kg).

The PRC673 planetary rigid axle series offers a wide selection of the overall gear reduction options, axle load capacities, brakes, and multiple tracks/axle mounting centers that can be tailored to your specific needs. Its design helps reduce OEM/end-user maintenance costs.

Engineered for compatibility with demanding traction conditions, the PRC673 meets the trend of increased driveline torques, tire sizes, and loading requirements that provide an extra ruggedness for prolonged life.

  • DCDL (driver-controlled differential lock) and NoSPIN® differential options are available for improved traction vocational requirements.
  • A standard carrier input pinion unitized seal reduces the likelihood of oil leaks. 
  • Extra axle housing magnets are optional to help reduce any metallic contamination between scheduled lubrication change intervals.
  • Service brakes are air-actuated cam valves. 
  • Carrier input pinion-mounted park brake option available. 
  • Cam brakes also have failsafe brake chamber options for the vehicle parking feature.

With a capacity of up to 83,000 lbs. (37,650 kg.), this AxleTech International* PRC775 series planetary rigid axle covers a broad range of lift capacities ranging from 17,500 to 35,270 lbs. (8.0-16.0 MT).

The PRC775 planetary rigid axle offers a wide selection of gear ratios, load capacities and brakes for performance characteristics tailored to your needs.

Engineered for compatibility with demanding traction conditions, the PRC775 meets the trend of increased driveline torques, tire sizes, and loading requirements and provides ruggedness for prolonged life. A limited slip differential with a 2.0 bias ratio is available for improved traction in unique vocational requirements.

  • Design helps reduce OEM end-user maintenance costs.
  • A standard unitized input pinion seal reduces the likelihood of oil leaks. 
  • Standard extra axle housing magnets help reduce metallic contamination between scheduled lubricant change intervals.
  • Options include wheel-mounted wet disc or irPlt cam brakes. 
  • Optional input mounted hydraulic Hold-Off/Spring-Applied caliper park brake on a 16.0″ (406.4mm) rotor is also available. 
  • Failsafe brake chambers are an option when cam brakes are specified. 
  • For severe duty cycles, optional force-cooling ports are available on wet disc brakes to allow for auxiliary cooling. 
  • Mechanical wear indicators for the wet disc brakes permit visual inspection without axle/wet disc brake disassembly.

The PRC3806 axle series offers a wide selection of overall axle ratios, load capacities, and vehicle installation mountings for performance characteristics tailored to your needs.

Engineered for compatibility with demanding traction conditions, the PRC3806 meets the trend of increased driveline torque and loading conditions with its optimized ductile iron housing design that provides an extra ruggedness for prolonged use. 

  • Design helps reduce OEM/end-user maintenance costs through a series of standard and optional features 
  • A standard unitized input pinion seal reduces the likelihood of carrier oil leaks and a carrier thrust screw provides for ring gear support in high torque applications.
  • Options also include multiple axle mounting centers to provide flexibility to match OEM vehicle installations. 
  • Mechanical wear indicators are available to permit visual inspection without axle/wet disc brake disassembly. 
  • Optional wet brake jack-screws and temperature sensors allow you to customize wet brake vehicle systems. 
  • Optional input park brake feature allows the OEM the ability to select to park on the input of the planetary axle.
  • Various input yokes/flanges including the “XS-150” and “XS-180” cross-teeth style flange are available.

The AxleTech International* PRC7534 series planetary rigid axle has capacity range from 170,000-245,000 lbs (77,100 – 111,100 kg). This axle covers a broad range of lift truck applications including large container handlers and log stackers.

  • A standard unitized input pinion seal minimizes potential for oil leaks and improved axle sealing protection. 
  • Supplemental housing magnets are standard to help reduce metallic contamination between scheduled lubricant change intervals. 
  • New high-capacity removable magnetic plugs enhance maximum life with minimum maintenance.
  • Wheel-mounted 17” (432 mm) wet disc brakes with a sealed environment protect against contaminants for optimal brake performance in severe conditions. 
  • Multiple tracks/mounting centers to provide for OEM flexibility to match various OEM installations.
  • Optional carrier input mounted park brakes provide the OEM with the ability to select this parking feature directly mounted on the PRC7534 planetary axle. 
  • Various input yokes/flange options, including the XS180 cross-teeth style flange.

The AxleTech International* PRLC1794 series rigid planetary axle has an axle capacity range up to 130,000 pounds (59,000 kg) for lift truck applications. This axle covers a broad range of lift truck and empty container applications.

The PRLC1794 design helps reduce OEM/end-user maintenance costs through a series of standard and optional features. 

  • A standard unitized input pinion seal reduces the likelihood of carrier oil leaks and carrier thrust screw for ring gear support in high-torque applications.
  • Options include multiple axle mounting centers to provide flexibility to match OEM vehicle installations.

The AxleTech International* PRLC3804 series axle is engineered to meet the demands of the heavy-duty industrial solid tire lift truck market. With a capacity range of up to 150,000 lbs (68,000 kg), this axle covers a broad range of lift truck applications. 

Engineered for compatibility with demanding traction conditions, the PRLC3804 meets the trend of increased driveline torque, tire sizes and loading requirements and provides ruggedness for prolonged use.
