Axle and Differential Tag Location Guide: Identify Your Axle and Differential Fast

Sending us a picture of a data tag helps our experts determine the parts you need quickly.

How to Locate an Axle Data Tag

Every axle includes a manufacturer’s data tag, which contains essential information to identify the components that make up the axle. These details are referenced in the manufacturer’s Bill of Materials (BOM), helping to determine the exact parts required.

Over the years, Heavy Duty Transaxle has built the largest collection of BOMs in the industrial aftermarket industry. This extensive database allows us to quickly and accurately locate the parts you need.

The diagram below illustrates where the data tag will typically be found.

To help our parts team get started on your request quickly, send us a clear picture of your axle’s data tag. Note that over time, these tags can become worn, damaged, or covered in grease, dirt, and mud. Cleaning the tag before taking a picture ensures we can read the information accurately and process your request more efficiently.
