History of Clark Axles
Clark Equipment Company, established in 1903, became a pioneer in the manufacturing of heavy machinery, including the widely used Clark planetary axles. Over the years, Clark’s axle division became known for its durability and versatility, making it a staple in off-highway vehicles. In the 1990s, the axle division was sold to Volvo Construction Equipment, and in 2002, it was acquired by AxleTech International.
AxleTech continued the production and support of Clark axles, integrating them into their product lineup. In 2019, Meritor acquired AxleTech, incorporating the Clark axle products into Meritor’s extensive portfolio of drivetrain and mobility solutions. Despite these changes, Clark axles remain in active use, and at Heavy Duty Transaxle, we are committed to supporting these essential components.
